OK, so many McD`s in Japan have free wireless connections. We decided we would take advantage since our internet is down. It`s Sunday, we bike in the rain, and enter an extremely busy McD`s in my town. Due to the volume of kids, we encounter the many blatent stares and gasps by students who can`t believe I exist outside of school. In turn, their parents then stare b/c their child is intrigued with the foreigner: so double stares. We set up and then go order 2 kohi and 2 hoto apuru pasu. We decide to eat slowly and take a lot of time to maxamize our internet time. We try to log on and it asks for a password. The manager of course didn`t know the password and denied that the service was available even though the service is advertised on the window. Our computer even showed that it existed it was just asking for the password. Maybe know one has ever asked for the password so he didn`t know about it? Usually though the service industry bends over backwards here to help and he just didn`t seem to care. So were we snubbed or was the manager just two busy to deal with 2 Japanese-language ignorant gaijin???? Felt a bit snubbed personally. Ended up at the internet cafe where I was guaranteed service and a drink for a small fee.Hopefully we will be back on-line soon. Lots to report: went camping for Golden Week, also had a scary incident with a gigantic spider this morning; photos were taken. I`ll get those posted ASAP.
If you were complaining about a McD's here in the states, you can actually email the corporation. Does someone really read it?? Or is it just there to make you feel like you did something.
