1th Iwade Marathon!

Yes you read that right......the 1th Iwade Marathon was held this past Sunday. I couldn't believe that they made such a huge mistake on the t-shirts. The 1th is in the front and center of the shirt also. Great! Anyway, yours truly didn't run the race. I had originally signed up for the 5 KM, but dropped out due to the B*RO**BRO*NCHIT*IS**Bronchitis, hey, hey Bronchitis! Rich did however run the 15 KM course. Thought I was going to cough up a lung just biking across town to get to the race, can't imagine running it. Rich did a great job and accomplished the cold hilly course in 1:14. His comments post race reflect his over all feeling about all the races that he has ran in Japan, "The Japanese don't know how to plan a course. You never can get in a rhythm b/c the course always twists and turns with lots of ups and downs." Regardless I think he did a great job! Photo on the left was taken early in the race (notice the half smile), he actually stopped to kiss me. Good photo on the right, 11 KMish point, notice both his feet are off the ground. Cool! Next race for Rich is the Kinokawa Blossom Half Marathon on April 22.

Icky Update - so I called in sick on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Actually felt really guilty about missing work; that dedication and conscience gene in me. Decided that I shouldn't feel too bad considering how many days I sit at school and am under used doing nothing. Luckily my school nurse took me to an ear, nose, and throat doctor Monday morning. Guess what? He actually looked into my ears, nose, and throat. Then he gave me some medicine in what looked like a hubbly bubbly device. After that I got about 5 different medicines to take for 5 days. So far I'm feeling better, but still have a nasty watery cough. Ugh! Think life and my cough would improve if the weather would just decide to stay warm.
